The Nature of Free (Kodingen is Free!)
March 3, 2010 in Home by Devrim Yasar
Many of us were brought up to be suspicious of “free”. We live by sayings like, “You get what you pay for”, or “Nothing in this world is free”. However, the new “free” is Free.
This free seemed to have no strings attached: It wasn’t just a lure for a future sale, but genuinely gratis. Most of us depend on one or more Google services every day, but they never show up on our credit card. No meter ticks as you use Facebook. Wikipedia costs you nothing.
Today’s free is not a loss leader or buy one get one free. Today free is Free. Unlimited usage and limitless availability are realities we all enjoy around our access to information.

And yes, Kodingen is free and will stay free.
Woow! Free as in freedom!
How do you make money? If I’m to put my eggs in your basket I want you to survive nicely.
Hi Juan, Don’t worry about it
we will also have paid features very soon. You will be able to buy inexpensive VMs, development sandboxes, more resources, domains, databases etc. We are just warming up just yet..
Sounds great! By the way: I very much enjoyed your ‘Jason’s Shark Tank’ pitch the second time I listened to it. For our students’ web dev association and Kodingen seems like a match made in heaven. I’ll be watching closely
